About Me

Hello! My name is Valerie and I am the batty designer behind Threaded Wilderness Patterns. I started counted cross stitch back in 2020 when Covid had us all stranded at home and I wanted something new to try. Thankfully, I was still living at home and my mom taught me and fostered my new addiction with books and supplies from her craft room. I've always enjoyed drawing, so converting lines into tiny X's felt natural to me. Searching around for patterns and not finding what I wanted opened the door to creating my own and ending up where I am now! 

When Threaded Wilderness Patterns was born, I was working an 8-5 with an increasing frustration at my lack of time and energy to do something creative after work. This gave me the spark to design small patterns I could complete in a few evenings to give me the feeling of accomplishment rather than more loose ends. After designing a number of small patterns and having family and friends love them, I was encouraged to share my ideas with creatives who would enjoy simple stitches. I enjoy stitching Gods flora and fauna most, but every once in a while I throw a strand of spaghetti against the wall and it sticks!

I am also available to make custom designs off your ideas if you are unable to design your own pattern or would like help! However, as a disclaimer there are certain things I cannot produce and sell due to legal barriers (e.g. sports teams, video game characters, band logos, etc.).
